After coming back from the Red we were hooked, but Nelson remained less than fond of roped climbing. A bit of research led us to Little Rock City, aka Stone Fort for a bouldering trip. Taking Friday off work, we drove down early that morning and arrived at Montlake Golf Course to get started. As serious as ever, we started ticking off V0 and V0- routes like it was our first time bouldering outside.
Friday we had the whole place to ourselves, and even tho there were a few golfers over the weekend, Stone Fort was the definition of solitude for this trip. We bumped into a group on Super Mario when we were back that way, but any interaction was few and far between. The notable ticks for the weekend (be it for photogenic or difficulty reasons) included: Fire Crack Flak, Keel Hauled, and Brian's Brain.
Standing out even more were two problems that remained unfinished: Art of Vogi and Super Mario. These two would leave at least Nelson and I already planning a return trip.
Be it lead climbing, bouldering, or top rope, the last two trips have etched a place in our hearts as far as southern sandstone is concerned. We're quite pleased that it's not an unreasonable trip to make either Kentucky or Tennessee happen for even a short weekend trip.
