So Vatnajökull National Park is where this lovely glacial lagoon resides, but if these Icelandic words weren't already hard enough to attempt to pronounce, "Vatnajökull" is the abbreviation. I'll let you peruse the first image here and determine if you have a means of attempting that behemoth.

Not many people happened to be at the glacial lagoon as we pulled up, but within 5 minutes of being there we had the wonderful fortune to be able to witness not 1, but 2 little icebergs flip. If you ask Brian about this I promise you'll see his dimples immediately.

From the lagoon we moved on to more waterfalls, scoping out Hengifoss (3rd tallest waterfall in Iceland) and Midland falls (noted by the prominent gold looking basalt columns). We snagged some dinner in Egilsstaðir before moving on to the AirBnB for the night, and I think this is a pretty good point to start talking up the vegan options that are available in Iceland. Prior to this trip, Sara heard near horror stories of vegans attempting to eat while on the island. But from Reyjavik to Egilsstaðir to Akureyri, Sara had options the entire time. Two thumbs up Iceland, nice work. Thanks for not making the trip worse.
