Brian's itinerary was put together so well, he included anticipating that my attention span would dwindle with some of those short paved hikes. Glymur falls begins on a smooth flat path, then descends thru a small cave before tip-toeing across a tree over the river.

Quickly transitioning from the smooth flat path, the trail narrows and steepens as the climbing begins. Rising up towards the falls you have occasional sections with fixed ropes to help make your way up. I took this hike pretty slow, super excited about being off the pavement and taking in our last day in Iceland before bopping over to Dublin.

Arriving back in Reykjavik we dropped off the camping equipment we had rented, and with it, the viking hat. It had been a more than welcome addition to the group for drive around Iceland, but it wouldn't be making its way across the water to Ireland. Hopefully the rental company used its powers for good, and someone else could get some enjoyment out of it.
