For Sara's 30th (whether she wants me to say that or not) we booked a tiny cabin in Asheville to refresh, celebrate, and have some craft beers between hikes. Because this trip was book ended by two work trips, and I'd be catching a flight out of Lexington on the way back to Dayton from Asheville we decided to not haul the climbing gear and take it easy. Neither of us had been too or immediately around Asheville before, so we were pretty stoked for this trip. In addition, since there was no climbing, I took a back seat to the planning and Sara locked in our itinerary. The other exciting thing about this trip (from probably just my perspective) was I had finally had enough of Tumblr's image quality, so I locked in Adobe as my new means for sharing these kind of trips.
Craggy pinnacle and the falls at Graveyard fields had our attention right off the bat. Both relatively short hikes provided great views, and with some rain settling in on the latter we had premium parking and the place to ourselves.
Between the Chocolate Lounge, One World Brewing, Sierra Nevada and other staples, we enjoyed looking glass falls, some of the sea to summit trail, as well as skinny dip falls. While we didn't prioritize a trip to the Biltmore, we certainly got to partake in some wonderful activities.
